The Association

"To create a parenting community around educational, intentional playtime in early childhood, and build connection with other families through play."

Playful Moments

Simple, intentional play experiences where children can explore freely, and parents can slow down, observe, and be present.

A Space to Meet

A quiet, welcoming space where families can come together, get to know each other, and feel a sense of belonging.

Growing Together

A shared journey of reflection and support, where parents can exchange, listen, and grow alongside one another.

Membership

Joining Ludos Lekotek's association costs 200 SEK, valid until the end of 2026. This isn't just a fee — it's a direct investment in the space we're building together.

Right now, Ludos Lekotek is entirely self-funded. We haven't yet found an external funder or grant, so every membership contribution goes straight toward what keeps the toy library running and growing: expanding our collection of toys and materials, and covering the rent for our space here in Limhamn. When you become a member, you're not just supporting your own family's access to play — you're helping build something for the whole community.

Want to get even more involved?

If you'd love to be more than a member — to help shape decisions, bring your own ideas, or lend a hand behind the scenes — we'd love to have you on our board (styrelse). Reach out to us to find out more about joining the committee.

Chairwoman

Alissa Valsangiacomo

Alissa Valsangiacomo is the founder of Ludos and co-creator of this community.

She moved to Malmö from Switzerland three years ago and is a mother of two.

Her approach is inspired by Montessori principles and gentle parenting, and shaped by a personal journey of growth. She believes that children learn by observing and absorbing the world around them, which led her to reflect deeply on her own values and the environment she creates as a parent.

This reflection naturally expanded into a deeper exploration of the relationships and well-being of the people surrounding children. It is from this awareness that the desire to create a supportive community was born—one where families can connect, share, and grow together.

Treasurer

Johanne JunG Melms

Jo is a founding board member and treasurer of Ludos Lektotek.

She is driven by a curiosity for what happens when people meet through play. With a masters in theology, she is especially interested in how we create meaning, rituals, and a sense of belonging together.

Alongside this, Jo has spent years in theatre, both on stage and in improv, where presence, spontaneity, and shared imagination take center stage.

She has also worked closely with children with diverse needs, bringing a grounded and attentive approach to creating spaces where everyone can belong on their unique terms.

At Ludos Lektotek, Jo keeps an eye on the numbers, but just as importantly, helps hold the vision of play as a vital, whimsical and explorative place for adults and children alike.
